Elizabeth Jane Hurley was an English actress, model and television star that gained notoriety during the 90s, when she became Hugh Grant's girlfriend. When Grant's film Four Weddings and a Funeral was the focus of worldwide interest in the media, Hurley accompanied Grant to the film's Los Angeles premiere wearing a black Versace gown with gold safety pins. This instantly gained her fame in the media. Hurley's friendship with Estee Lauder is her most memorable professional experience. The track featured a raunchy electro-pop sound, and had a strong position. I Kissed A Girl became an immediate hit, however the song quickly caused controversy. Some critics claimed that the song was a promotion of sexual relations between men and women, and others felt that the story the song depicted appealed more to male fantasies. I Kissed a Girl's combination of excitement, a polished tune and a catchy chorus helped it become a top-ten hit across multiple countries. The result was the album of the same name of the Boys (2007) which was a huge success. With its bouncy sharp-tongued song, the second Hot N Cold also proving well-loved, the album the songs Perry wrote herself eventually registered the sales of over three million copies in the United States.
