She received an Academy Award nomination for her part as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and she is also famous for her role as President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica which was the president's wife on Independence Day and for her leading role in Donnie Darko in the role of the title protagonist's mother.
