Swallow began her Broadway career by performing in several productions, such as High Fidelity at the Guthrie Theater as well as King Lear for Shakespeare in the Park. After that, she was on Southland as well as Ringer, The Good Wife and NCIS. The role she played was FBI agent Kim Fischer as a leading role in The Mentalist. 1-7 She was Amara, the Darkness in Supernatural's 11th Season. Beginning in 2019, she assumed the character as the Armorer in the Star Wars series The Mandalorian as the head of the traditional Mandalorians. Because the traditionalists never take off their helmets, her face is never seen.
