Niykee keeps writing music despite having been part of the recent turmoil. Her selection was made to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. She is a constant magnet for new producers beginning their careers. The beats she hears from producers spark songs. In just 5 minutes when I'm able to determine the beat's worth it. From there I am able to see the concept of a song's whole concept within my head, and then I begin to compose. While I'm on my back porch playing guitar, my lyrics simply come out and can be done in less than 30 minutes. While she develops her skills as a lyricist, Niykee explains that the hurt of her history is an unending source of sources of inspiration. She says that even when she's not composing about events that were actually taking place the pain due to her childhood and the losing her younger sister find its way into the music. My songs are shaped by it and I see the bigger picture beneath everything. It's among the things that is most significant to me.
