The shadows that she noticed on the lawn inspired her to develop a technique, which however, did not paint the object she chose onto canvas. The chosen subject transforms into an image of itself. This is particularly true with living objects or objects that die for example, like fruits or humans. Alexa's style of painting is one of ephemeral, and only photos of her work remain. Painting and photography are closely together to produce two-dimensional flat surface which is trompe-l'oeil. In certain places, the three-dimensional space can be seen, for example, around the eye or on the hair. Meade has integrated her painted models within the 3-dimensional space around the models. The interaction between them and the created environment can be achieved. It eliminates any distinction between painting, photography and installation.
